balancer chain and canshaft tensioner

Ok I went through the archives and I'm starting to get nervous. I'm hearing a ticking noise coming from the left side coming from under the tank as as ride. It sounds like a chain rattling or something loose. Is the Camshaft tensioner on the left side? And how do I adjust it? I took off the rubber plug for the Balencer tensioner near the gear shifter and loosened it 3 turns but didn't hear nothing "click" so i tightned it up and it is still ticking. It is not loud nor is it everytime, but it is there, most of the time at idle. I don't have a book yet. I have a 1993 with 9200 miles. Could anyone help me fix my time bomb before I blow the casing apart. Also any pictures would be helpful. I went to the buykawasaki site to take an internal look. What else is there to do. I know most of you have had this experiance and I should be tick free by tomorrow. Thanks in advance. Van A7
