I was referred to the list from the Dust list. We have a parked KLR that we
would like to get back on the road. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We have a KLR that hasn't run for about 6 months. It is my son's and I have
been trying the get him to work on it or at least take the responsibility to
take it in.
So far no luck so I guess I may have to rescue the bike if I want to ride it.
It will start and run at idle but will not take any throttle. We have cleaned
the carb at least twice and replaced the choke connection, it was cracked.
Cleaned and tested the petcock, added fresh gas and a new plug. Still acts
the same. Any Ideas?

between the KLR and my Ninja. The KLR's engine braking
is so awesome the brakes become redundant when
cruising anyway.
I'd say the weaker links on my A 14 are the front tire (now replaced twice) and the stock forks. At first, panic stops caused the front wheel to slip. With a different tire, the same stop would nearly bottom the weak forks. Maybe new brake lines are fresh and have yet to wear, or perhaps newer models use different hoses?>>
