slow speed hesitation

Post by Hugh Stout » Thu Aug 03, 2000 4:37 pm

Over the last few months my '94 KLR650 (12.5 K miles) has been showing increasing signs of an intermittent slow speed (2000-3000 rpm) hesitation or miss...not serious, and not there when I wind it up, but just noticeable. The plug is fine, and my guess is a little crud in the pilot jet...at least that's where I'll look first. But before I start to dig into the guts of the beast, does anyone else have other suggestions or possibilities that I should consider? And I've seen references to instructions in the manuals for pulling the carb which apparently involve loosening the subframe...also seen suggestions that it isn't necessary. a) where in the manual(s) are these instructions...I haven't been able to find them? b) is it or is it not necessary to do this? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Hugh Stout '74 R90/6 '94 KLR650 '00 Super Sherpa
