I've got 47,000 miles on my '93 KLR and think I should replace the cam chain for preventative maintenance. I've got the chain breaker/riveter tool and both svc manuals, but I'm having trouble understanding the wear spec measurement between links. Thank's for any clarification. Also, at what interval have others replaced their cam chain and whats a good source for an aftermarket cam chain? CaffeineRacer, Long Beach, Calif, USA, When life throws curves...lean into them!

Jeff, I and possibly other listers might be interested if you would list any major mechanical repairs you have had to make in the course of putting on the 47k, assuming your bike wasn't crashed hard or something else traumatic, besides being treated to regular abuse. I would be interested in seeing any patterns on bikes over 40 or 50k. Anyone else intereseted in the results of gathering this information? Backroad Bill
