clutch switch works ok now

The clutch switch does have some amount of adjustment as mentioned in an earlier posting. The problem I originally had was that the engine would not crank while in gear and the clutch handle pulled in. The 1/16 to 1/8 adjustment isn t much, but apparently seems to be all you need. I pushed the switch as far forward as it would go. This will theoretically cause the engine to start with less pull on the clutch handle. Once that was done, I could crank the engine in gear while pulling in the clutch lever with arm cramping force (Ouch). I noticed that the flanges on the Pro-Grips were interfering with full travel of the clutch lever. I trimmed off the flange just enough to allow full travel and - BAM! the engine cranks when the lever is depressed and in gear. So if any of you KLRers are having the same problem as I was, check the switch position and check for grip interference. This egroup is great.
