Bro, it sounds like tire noise to me... them Kendas howl quite a bit ... You may want to bend your rear exhaust hangers to relocate the pipe away from the tire, too. If you have dropped your bike on the exhaust side (left), odds are you have bent the tabs on the rear subframe that the muffler bolts to. I had the same tire to muffler contact problem only at full compression on the suspension (which my bike sees a lot of the time, for I am a big tub of goo). I bent them tabs back and presto desto tricky dicky magic show, no more rubs. CA Stu A13<-- Kenda shod and howlin away, on the way to Baskin Robbins.

I always look for the obvious, so how is the actual oil level? Also check the coolant level and make sure the rad cap is seated properly. FWIW, mine runs the same as your did, about 1/4 in open air, 1/2 way in traffic and then up from there depending on red lights. Good luck! Karl
