coasting enricher

Help,
Need clarification from those of you that have taken the carb apart.
The manual picture of the carb is unclear on the O-ring placement
associated with the coasting enricher part of the carb.
On the left side of the card you remove two screws-
This removes the hold down plate and the enricher cover-
Then come the spring-
Then the rubber/metal T-shaped diafram jiggi-
Is the O-ring suppose to be at the bottom of this T-shaped item?
I still have a consistant backfiring problem when I coast down hills,
etc. Can't seem to nail it down. I did however install me new Moose
bash plate and my cases are happier! Had to move by shift lever up
on the spline a noch cause it wouldn't go in gear (hitting plate).
It's not ideal shift placement but I'll get use to it. Anybody else
experience this. Maybe mine was too low to start with.
