OK, at lunch today I ran an experiment with my headlights. 1) My KLR had set for about 1 hour from the last ride. 2) Turned ignition ON, headlight stayed OFF. Dimmer switch was in HIGH position. 3) Select LOW dimmer position and light turns ON. 4)Reselect HIGH light goes out. 5) Start engine, light stays out until engine is reved, light goes ON. 6) Ride it about 15 minutes, turn engine off, HIGH beam stays ON. LOW beam works too. 7) Half hour later, turn ignition on, HIGH beam goes on, LOW beam works too. Hmmmm, sounds inconsistent to me. Maybe my battery loses capacity when it sets for 1 hour or more. I don't know how old the battery is, could be the original for all I know. I'll check this weekend (I assume there is a date code on the battery?). Do other folks KLR's do this or is this the beginning of the end of my battery Brad A9
