A question to the list. Changing your own oil is the most straight forward DIY TLC you can do to your bike.........so am I missing something here: do dealers do it better?......with the attendant risk of them losing bits of the bike. Gromit A13

[dsn_klr650] blm orv comments

Post by Weaver, Mark » Fri Jul 28, 2000 1:14 pm

actually, now that i've submitted my comments, it seems the suwa folks might be a little confused about how to comment on this issue. i think what you really want to do is scroll down to the picture representing the blm national ohv strategy, then click on the "Information and Comment" link. at the bottom of that page is a purple rectangle containing a link to submit electronic comments. it only takes a few minutes. every one of us should submit a comment supporting the continued access to, and responsible enjoyment of our public lands. i think it's critical that enough trails remain open to ohv's. otherwise, two bad things happen: 1) remaining trails are overused and can deterioriate quickly. 2) disenfranchised citizens feel less compelled to ride responsibly, and end up creating their own "bootleg" trail network. anyway, keep a cool head, send in those comments, and be nice to people you meet on the trail. mw
