This is a common misconception. On any and every multi-cylinder engine (V-8 in your truck, for example), some of the valve springs stay fully compressed each time the motor stops. They stay compressed overnight or maybe for 40 years, and no problems. There are perhaps millions of springs used in this way, and I've never heard of anyone removing the valve covers to back off the tension each night...... Your car sits on suspension springs compressed halfway, for years. Riding the motorcycle is the only way to sack the springs. If your fork springs were to sack from being compressed, they would be the first in history. The only springs being sacked are the ones in your computer keyboard. 8http://www.cycoactive.com | e-mail: TomMyers@... +------------------------------------+> >...leaving them under compression overnight?
