[dsn_klr650] intermittent starter

Hey Doc,
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, that's not it. Granted I do have a
battery problem and I'll have to check for a charging problem but.....
Each night I pull it in and stick the bike on a trickle charger, in the
morning I've got lots-o-juice. I tested your theory once by leaving the
charger cables on and switching the charger to the 50AMP start/jump
position. Still no start. Oh yeah, the only safety switch I have left is
the Clutch switch, and that's not it. Unless the relay will click even
with the safety switch open. Anyone?
I can hear the solenoid clicking -Every time- I push the starter
button. I've put a DMM on the leads to the starter, again lots-o-juice at
the starter. So I've got juice and I've got relay, -Every time- I hit that
button. The only thing it could be is internal to the starter. I'll pull
it this weekend and give it a thorough examination before I actually start
diggin in. I can't think of anything else.
When my battery is too low then I just get a burping relay or nothing.
This morning my I had the winning number and it fired right up... ????
Oh well, time to bond with my starter. And here I was making jokes about
Lucas.... Sigh... What comes around goes around.
