i agree for the most part, but 600 miles is a joke on my '76 wing with a russell saddle. no pain whatsoever. _pete -----Original Message----- From: Karl Raupp [mailto:garagedoor79@...] Sent: Tuesday, July 25, 2000 9:19 AM To: DSN_klr650@egroups.com Cc: melvan@... Take the pain! TAKE THE PAIN!!! Seriously, it's something you need to get used to. At first I was ready to get off the bike after just 35 kms (bout 20 miles) but now that I've gotten lots of time in the saddle, a 600 mile day is nothing. Last month I did 5400 kms in just 4 1/2 days, that averages 725 miles per day. I WAS sore then ;) I found that both the bikes' seat and my rear had to break into each other. Plus, the KLR is blessed with a big fairly flat seat so you can really move around on it. I found that on my big ride by the end of the day I was moving around constantly to keep to hot spots down to a minimum. I can't really believe there is a motorcycle seat out there that will allow a 600 mile day without it letting you know you sat on a motorcycle for 600 miles. Some are probably pretty darned good, but even sitting in a car seat for 600 miles will give you a hot spot or two.
