saw a blurb about the ama nat'l dual sport series in dirt bike mag.
there's a ride at mammoth on 9/23-24 and at angel's camp (west slope
sierras, south of sacramento) on 10/7-8.
it sounds like kind of a fun way to see some other area, and do some
dirt riding with some other folks nearby (always important if you
ride
a fat pig like a klr). if anyone has done one of these, i'd love to
hear about it. if anyone has interest in going to one of these two
events (or others in california, i saw one on the website in sylmar),
i'd be interested in maybe meeting up and providing mutual moral
support.
i'll call the angel's camp organizers tomorrow and report on anything
interesting i find.

Well I have been having a REAL >bad >month, i blew up a car battery, the clutch went out in my VW Bug, my >chain broke on my bike, then when i replaced the chain i found out >that i needed to replace the brakes too.. Well I must have took >lessons from the knucklehead that did Dat Brooklyn Bum's brakes cause >I put both brake pads on the same side. Now don't I feel stupid. >Well >it did OK until some cager pulled out in front of me and I slammed on >the brakes.. it ate through about 1/4 inch of my fingers (on the >calper) I did manage to put some JB weld on the fingers and make it >the 75 miles home. but the JB weld (quick) melts at 300 degrees.
