[b]A 12V bike battery will have 6 cells that produce about 2V each.  If a battery has a problem, it is usually with only one cell therefore reducing the total charge by one cell, leaving you with about 10V.  Since you have over 12V I would say that your battery is good and ready to be put in your bike.[/b]   [b]Fred[/b]

Thursday night, charged at 1 amp for two hours.  Friday night charged at 1 amp for two hours.  (these hours were what was available while I was at home). Four of the cells only raise three of the balls in the hydrometer.  I've never had this problem with a new battery before, or charging one while servicing. All cells should float either four or five of the balls. Should I continue charging this battery?
