Sorry this is such an old thread, but I have a tendency of coming up
with snappy responses five minutes too late. Must be why I'm an

How about,
I got charged by a grizzly bear with a cougar on its back, and pulled
out my .44 but it misfired. Fortunately, I hadn't replaced my stock
shifter, so I reached down, snapped off the lever at the crappy weld,
and stabbed the grizzly to death with it. The cougar ran off in fear.
etc.
