The DR350 would probably be good. XR400 seat height is 36.6 inches that is
higher that the klr650. The DR650 the seat height can be changed from 33 to
35 inches. I think the klr 650 with a lowering kit would be good or the
dr650. Dr350 might be a little under powered on the highway.

Subject: [DSN_klr650] NKLR New biker girlfriend!
Greetings all,
I am now dating a girl that rides! She works next door and we "rode
to work" together today. Her brother lets her ride his 1978 Yamaha 500
Enduro. Do you know what type of motor earl should be used for this bike?
It was rebuilt 1000 miles ago and is air cooled.
She is looking to buy a dualsport for herself and wants a
low-seat-height. She loves the KLR (I'm falling for her too) but it's too
tall (I mentioned lowering links, etc.). I thought something like a KLR250
or Dr.350 or XR400 + Baha kit? Everyone has an opinion, so let's hear 'em!
Thank you,
Eric

Try to find an oil type that won't tie up the internet. Every
motorcycle list I've ever been on is in need of this special oil.
Most important feature is that it should be available. If you found
'availability' useful in your new girlfriend, you will find it useful
in your new oil. Neither she nor the bike will ever know otherwise.

Eric,
Not only have you met a woman who likes you and your KLR and likes to ride, she likes to ride dual sport!! Even Bill Gates would be envious.

I was gone for a few days so I don't know if this is news or not...but Mike
Walburn is about to announce availability of a new custom shock that is an
11/2 inches lower than the stocker....I vote for the DR350SE '94 or later...

Love on the KLR 650 list.......I love it. I don't recall a romantic
thread coming around since Dan discovered a girl, and
went off to Mexico with her.
Sounds like there's enough wisdom on the list regarding female pleasing,
and well.........who am I to blow against the wind?
My guess is a dualsport will be aquired that takes into account
the dualsport riding future.......
Congratulations....keep us posted on those romantic ride reports!

The K&Ns I've seen looked the same, too easy to see light directly
through them.

Yup, like in a foam filter, perhaps like the stock one.
