As long as you flushed your used oil down the toilet. ;) -----Original Message----- From: Rob MacLeod [mailto:rob@...] Sent: Friday, July 14, 2000 1:00 PM To: DSN_klr650@egroups.com Subject: [DSN_klr650] NKLR The Ultimate KLR650 post The other day I adjusted my valves because my dealer is an idiot, changed my oil and put enough synthetic oil to bring the level 1/8 inch above the sight glass, added progressive springs and rear shock, lowering links, moose bash plate and panniers, swapped my stocker tires for knobbies, added steel brake lines, acerbis hand guards and front rotor guard, went riding in a National Park, stalled because my jetting was too lean after I added my Supertrapp IDS, stopped for a warm American beer along the trail, got charged by a grizzly bear with a cougar on its back and shot them both with my .44, then my GPS quit working, but I fixed it with my BMW tool kit. Then as the flames died down (from the burning forest that had excessive fuel build-up) it started raining and the bike went, " spa-spu-sput-kaputt......", but the quick thinking rider got out his chain lube (WD-40) and hosed down the sparkey box and life was renewed..... and the journey continued.... - Knot ps: the fire was started not by a faulty exhaust, but by an improperly adjusted chain. The loose chain created sparks as it cut thorough the swingarm bolt which was frozen in place because the rider had not..... Friendly riders had tried to SHOUT warnings, but loss of hearing prevented effective communication.

Dear Rob Naw, cause you didn't say anything about Mama, rain, prison, or getting drunk. Or maybe that was the Steve Goodman (R.I.P.). But a heckuva good try. And sounds like a real interesting ride; give me a shout for the next one. John Paul Gray Dana Point CA 94 ST1100 95 KLR650 96 1100GS

Hey folks... I was riding through Old Pasadena on Sunday, around 2:30 pm, and exchanged nods with someone on a teal/white 650. I was on my red Suzuki standard, sage green shirt. Any of you guys? I don't suppose the two other people at Caltech who own blue/white 650s are on the list either, are you? Chris -- Dr. J.
