Some time ago, one of the motorcycle magazines (Motorcycle Consumer News, I think -or it might still have been Road Rider) did an extensive study with sensors placed inside helmets under "Real life" riding conditions. Their results were that there is no significant difference between a black or a white helmet. I have never noticed much difference. Since that study,helmet ventilation systems have improved greatly, which is what you probably should be considering.
