[dsn_klr650] i did it!

Post by Jim Cunningham » Thu Jul 13, 2000 1:12 pm

kyle I have an 88 KLR (A2) and have been riding it for 8 years. It currently has about 19000 miles on it and i suspect it will get tons more. I think $800 is a great buy. I rode strictly street bikes before the KLR (Concourse 1000,Suzuki 1100E,Honda 750,Yamaha 1100G and more) The KLR is by far the most versatile bike I have had, and if you live in mountain country it has no equal! The KLR is kind of like my wife, I did not appreciate her fully until I had ridden her a while! -----Original Message----- From: Enlow, Kyle S [mailto:kenlow@...] Sent: Thursday, July 13, 2000 9:56 AM To: DSN_klr650@egroups.com Subject: [DSN_klr650] FW: I did it! -----Original Message----- From: Enlow, Kyle S Sent: Thursday, July 13, 2000 10:22 AM To: DSN_klr650@egroups.com Subject: I did it! After listening to the advice on this list for 6 months I bought a 1988 KLR. I guess that is an A2? I went and road it this morning and it road good. Much different from my NightHawk 750. The KLR has 14000 miles on it and new tires. I paid $800.00 for it. I guess this is a good deal? Anyway I am looking forward to riding it. If I like it I may sell the NightHawk and buy a 2001 KLR. Sounds like a great deal. I've seen the 2001 KLR650 in the metal. Looks pretty cool. I was tempted to sell my A13 and go for a new one. Probably won't, though. Chris Lawson

chain/sprocket combo from chaparral

Post by Dale Johnson » Thu Jul 13, 2000 4:30 pm

Well, it's almost payday. Looks like I am going to get the chain/sprocket combo from Chaparral, Renthal front and read steel sprocket and a RK O-ring chain for 108. My question is this, I am running stock front and rear sprocket now, I ride 150 miles a day street. but love to offroad too. My front sprocket is in good condition and my rear has one chipped tooth. Any suggestions on what size sprockets i should get? Thanks in advance. Also I am having a verry LONG day, so if this is a double post I appoligize. Dale A14 Can't wait to fix her
