I'll be going up to Idaho that weekend, leaving about the 5th, for
the Nez Perce ride and then the Stanley Stomp. Both are highly
recommended if you like to ride dirt roads through the Rockies, and
if you like to eat a lot and drink good beer. The Nez Perce ride
organizer drives his VW bus along, on the pavement route, and it's
filled with coolers, food, and beer. The Stanley Stomp has the
Airheads bringing about six or eight kegs of microbrew, and there is
outstanding mountain trail riding in the Yankee Fork area where it
takes place...which is near Sunbeam, where there is a great hot
spring. They are both BMW rallies but all bikes are welcome. I've
found that people open up and talk to you much quicker if you ride
something a little different.
