OK, OK, I'm biting the bullet. Been a street rider ever since I was
born, or so it feels, but I can't resist the urge to go exploring the
desert of Nevada any more. So I'm getting ready to purchase a KLR
after reading zillions of web pages on almost every brand of dual
sport there is.
Being 6'4" tall and 220 lbs., I think the bike can handle me better
than most dual sports can. But I do have a few basic questions
before I dip into my wallet.
What's the oldest model I should look at that has most, if not all,
of the current model's features? Cosmetics is not a concern to me.
And I intend on tweaking the bike anyway to get the maximum torque,
traction and stability I can.
I'd appreciate any advice you can give to this soon-to-be dual sport
convert from Honda Valkyrie street riding.
