After reading this list for a better part of the a year and enduring the frustration of Blowing My Wallet (BMW), I just went out and bought a new 2001 KLR. I am moving from a BMW K1200RS to a KLR. I'm I crazy, or have other listers made similar moves from big, complex, and expensive machines to the relatively simple KLR? It is difficult to rationalize -- perhaps it is just the "return to the basics" syndrome. Regardless, the A15 looks very nice. The silver tank adds contrast to the olive plastic (being a former Marine, the A14 color scheme is a bit heavy). It is a $100 ($4,999 -- Bay Area price) more than the A14. Thanks to "thesquasher" for setting me up with a great "no bullshit" Kawasaki dealer. Thanks to Arne, Gino, and the gang for making this list a considerable resource.
