kick start kit for 2001?

Hey there: I recently sold my 93 KLR and am patiently waiting for the 2001 to emerge. One factory mod I had on my 93 was the Kickstart kit. I hear tell that this is not available for the 2001 model. Can anyone confirm this. I've relied on this item in more than a few dire situations and would hate to hear that it has been discontinued from future models. Anybody know for sure....
