I was also interested in a pic of these panniers, but the pic on this page is pretty small, and its hard to see how they are sitting. The guy with the cheesy grin leaning on Kurt's bike is also very distracting to the cause...does anyone have a better pic? Or could walk outside with their digi cam? Thanks in advance, Rich. [dsn_klr650] nklr - loud horns saves lives

Post by Jeffrey L. Walker » Sat Jul 08, 2000 9:48 am

Go Pets
On the fourth I was coming up on the left turn lane when I noticed the driver in the right lane starting to turn his wheel in my direction. I layed on the horn and got his attention but he continued to make a left hand turn from the right hand lane. I was going slow enough that I stopped short of hitting him. Then he waves at me. Following him it became obvious that he had had a few drinks too many. The  horn alerts but in this case had a kind of deer in the headlights effect. Could it be something similar to target fixation??? John Turner
Personally, I would have followed him to his destination and then called the cops on my cell phone.  I would have then detained the man, and when the cops show, place him under citizen's arrest.  I've been there, and I've done that, only in my case, it was the lady who lived down the street who almost ran over the little kids out playing.  The cop tried telling me that he couldn't arrest her because he didn't witness her driving.  I said you don't have to, I'M GOING TO.  But then, that's just me, and nothing pisses me off more than people that endanger kids' lives.   BTW, the arrest was legal, and the conviction (her third) stuck.  For my time and trouble, I received a few threats from her boyfriend, and lots of discouragement from the local law enforcement.   Jeff
