Mark King wrote: "Being a Brit I often sense that the hostility towards us..." Actually Mark, it's not as much hostility as it is finding the Queens folks as kind of queer. I mean, thinking of an entire nation of "chaps" who are straight out of Austin Powers is absolutely funny. (Ooops, did I mean to say "chaps" or "blokes"? Chaps ARE a form of clothing for cowboys, bikers and...well... other folks...) I don't think we Americans can really distill it to any one thing. Your accent, your royalty, your teeth... It might be good to get the opinion of some of those beady-eyed flappy-heads up in the great white north. Well, any Canucks want to respond to this? Chris Astier P.S. If you didn't get the humor in this, please just send me to your "blocked sender" list instead of getting your panties in a bunch. Ooops! Did I mean "humour"? Maybe one of you chaps... er.... blokes can help me figure that one out.

Chris, as a true Canadian, I have no idea what you're talking 'aboot'! When the snow melts enough to let us out of our rural towns, we're happy to see anyone, even if they have bad teeth! 8 months a year in an igloo will do that to you. Besides, we're a little behind the times up here. We only gained our independance from the mother country 30-odd years ago! Tim Ryce A9 - 22000km ps- beady-eyed flappy heads?

Sitting on the side-lines, I'm getting a kick out of all this. As for "I'm a Lumberjack", I just sang this last month at a British Pub Night that a group of us put on to raise $$$ for our trip to Buxton, England next year. lol... Arne
