[dsn_klr650] nklr - loading ramp hardware
I'm entering this thread late and someone has probably already said this
but... I use a 2" x 12" x 8' board for loading my XR and KLR onto a utility
trailer. I went to Lowe's and picked up a 2" x 24" piece of solid galv sheet
steel 1/8" thick and cut it in half with my dremel. The 2x12 was 16' long
for another project so I placed the two 12" pieces of steel between the 8'
boards and wedged a 2x4 under them and bent each up to about 30 or so
degrees. Then drill one side of the bend with 1/2" holes and bolt them to
the 2x12. Works great and I don't have to have a hole to anchor them down
with. Also, the board edge sits flush with the trailer edge so I don't have
to worry about pushing the board off with the back tire. Whole thing for
less than 20 dollars as I recall.
