Brad, I too have a hi-viz yellow Aerostich Darien Jacket. Its expensive at $367 but my skin is worth it. The "geek" factor is a 10+, and the hi-viz is brighter than a 100 mega-ton nuclear blast. You will be seen and that's why I bought it. For the long haul (5+ years), I think the quality of the Aerostich makes it a good value. Knot - shining brightly on the surface.

I contemplated this long and hard. I had everything apart, I went and bought some zerks, I had the drill press and tap ready to go and I decided against it. Here's why. The zerks will only do you good for two places (where there are two sleeves of needle bearings, that you can put a zerk between them). The places are under the swing arm where the linkage arms bolt up and on the linkage knuckle where it mounts to the frame. There are 6 places that need cleaning and re-lubing every so often. You can zerk 2 of the 6. In the end you still have to tear it all down to get to the other 4 points and thus you haven't really saved anything. Additionally, the place on the linkage knuckle that would easily accept a zerk is 99.9% exposed to every thing that passes under your bike. Not a good thing. Second reason, I couldn't find my favorite Valvoline Synthetic Blend fortified with MoSi2 Grease in a tube for a grease gun, and if I did I didn't want to displace my other GP grease that I use in my grease gun.
