Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. But I tend to think that power also attracts the corruptible. Right here where I live, we have the newest national monument, the Hanford Reach, declared against the wishes of local and state government, as we would prefer to manage our own affairs. Gore has promised to breach the lower three dams on the Snake River too, a move that would put all the family and local farms out of business, and since this entire regions economy depends on agriculture, it would essentially put everyone out of business.
