I put one on Daryl's bike.. it has about 400 miles on it. I just mounted one (new) on my rear rim, two nights ago. Daryl isn't as aggressive as I, even hash marks on the street are mine. Anyway, they closed the forests here so there isn't a lot of good places to ride close to here... The point Dash.... Oh Yeah..... The leading edges of the large straight line (center) knobbies are getting a little rounded, to be expected. That tire is a veritable set of teeth in the dirt. I have never tried the MT-21 rear in the dirt, but I can say that the 606 is a great tire in the mix. I think of it as a general purpose dirt tire. OK for soft because of knob design and OK for intermediate and hard because of compound. Even on loose gravel it hooks up well, and is very predictable. On the road it is also very predictable. I am pretty careful with it entering a turn while braking, but that is pretty much universal for any knobby. Juice it hard through a turn and get a nice slide going. Scared yet? It is a good tire, ... I haven't had it in the rain.... I wish it would rain. I don't have any longevity data, sorry, but I do like the tire. The front on Daryl's KLR is an MT-21, I have a Dunlop K139. Oh yeah and about dirt performance. Your saddle will help you a great deal to keep the rear end in control. In my spare time (Heee Heee Heee) I made a custom saddle for my bike out of the stock seat, I finished it yesterday. I dished out the pilot's seat, added a bicycle gel seat pad, then a layer of 1" lower density foam. Then I took the same lower density foam and built a cushy ride for Mrs. Dash. Curved everything so it looks neat, glued it all in place and then covered the whole thing in 1/2" really low density foam to soften up the transition edges. Covered it in a naugahide to match my paint job and.... Wow! I put it on Daryl's bike last night. OOOh Nice and comfy, looks great and a lot more control over the bike for me. Weird but true. I did a whole bunch of work on Da Bomb last night.... Gotta get some pics. It's starting to look like a motorcycle. Hey another tangent.. Cool... I broke a Buchanan spoke two nights ago while truing up my front wheel. A defect in the threads, as I wasn't even close to the torque limit. Anyway, I spoke (heee heee) with Buchanan yesterday and they are now stocking the Stainless Steel Hvy Duty spokes for the KLR. I know this because Clair, (nice lady) said she'd get a replacement in the mail right away..... Buchanan's gets two thumbs up from me. Yeah I had a whole bunch of problems with them at first but they pretty much made the spokes custom as they didn't normally stock them, they fixed their mistake in short order, they are very helpful on the phone (don't bother emailing them) and now they stock them for the KLR. Nice spokes to boot. Enough rambling.... LaterZ Dash
