Detergent isn't the best way to keep your grips on. YMMV so don't go panic. If you get them wet they can get slick again and you don't want that. But if you've done it for years with no crashes due to your grips getting wet and slick again, then by all means take this post and trash can it. I use rubbing alcohol or acetone get them good and wet inside and slip them on real fast. No Glue to actually have to scrape off the next time and they stick really good so long as the surfaces were clean to start with. A small hole in the end of the grip will help it evap. faster. Others use grip glue... it's cheap, its easy and they stay put. However, you have to let the glue dry. With something that evaporates fast (even under a grip) you can be on the road again in just a few minutes. LaterZ Dash
