Mark, An old friend did exactly that with Saabs, eventually turning it into a business enterprise. His other love was doing the same with 1980's Volvos. Now I'm on that plan. Except that my Volvo will not break, for the 4 years I've had it, and paid $1150.00 I think Saab/Volvo (particularly 80's models) are the best value for SUV protection, fuel efficiency, reliability, long distance capability, and style. And the Saab turbos are awefully fun to drive! Eric Colorado Springs A13L 2.1K '82 Volvo 240 DL 260K
>>> That's what I do with SAABs. I aquire an old model 99 or 900 for
3 digits, fix 'em, drive 'em into the ground and chop 'em up into organ donors for the future. I'm currently chopping an '85 900 4dr (paid $900 four years ago, needed ball joints and a wheel bearing) and putting an '85 900 turbo 3dr (from the original owner, paid $300, busted timing chain) on the road.
