siera dirt trail info request (nklr)

I am going to be in the Twain Harte / Pinecrest CA. area later this summer (on SR108, the Sonora Pass). I have topo's of the area but I have found them to be completely unreliable regarding locked gates on National Forest roads. Can anyone on the list recommend some good, long, dirt trails suitable for the KLR650 or how to determine if trails are open or not? Anyone in the area want some riding company for a couple days?
