I think this got lost to most of you. I would honestly wonder what the pro gun side has to say about this: -------------------------- I spent six years in the Navy. I was sharpshooter qualified on several different weapons. A guy I work with is from Canada and bought a Glock. He asked me to show him how to shoot at the gun range a block down from where I work (where incidentally is notable a couple of times throughout the year here in San Diego because people go there to rent handguns and frequently blow their brains out on the firing line with rented handguns... but I digress). Anyway, I agreed to give him some instruction because as Leading Petty Officer of a Weapons Division of a Navy cruiser, I had to organize shipboard firearms instruction. I'd rather have him learn to use his weapon safely, even though I don't agree with civilians owning handguns. Anyway, enough background. While I was there on the firing line during my lunch hour, unsupervised- no range master in sight- a fellow next to us about 3 stalls away starts practicing cross draws. He DROPS HIS WEAPON. Mind you we are on his left side, he is drawing his weapon from a shoulder under his left arm, his loaded weapon is being pointed at us as draws it across to fire. Behavior like this in the military would have gotten the perp, range master, and range officer sent to non-judicial punishment, and possibly even a criminal investigation. My question to you gun owners is this: aren't there regulations in place for the operation of firing ranges? I took my buddy and walked out right then. I talked to the guy at the counter who charged us for the range time and sold us the ammo.His reply was something to the effect of: "uh, ok, I'll have a talk with him. Kev
