kill switch

In need of "how to remove a kickstand killswitch for dummies" advise. I took off the Ca emissions canister bracket to get to my spring preload adjuster, made my adjustments, put the bracket back on, then put the plastic cover back over it. The bike starts but upon trying to put it in gear, it dies. Took the plastic cover off, started bike again, takes off fine. Appears as if the kickstand kill switch apparatus lives on this emissions canister bracket. As soon as I put the cover back on, it seems to throw things out of tolerance & "thunderdog" thinks the kickstand is down. Thanks Scott A14 "confused thunderdog" Sorrento
