And when they do see you it can be difficult to properly perceive the distance and speed. It is my understanding this is because the eyes triangulate on what they are looking at and something narrow like a bike makes this more difficult. Throw in multiple lanes and other distractions and it makes a lot of sense to slow WAY down through intersections. The added bonus is accelerating again is fun : > Glad to hear you are OK.
