Heine Gericke hold up?

They don't (until its too late). Better to "believe that they don't
see us" and ride accordingly.

I don't trust any one of them.... not a one. You
can't, you know.....if you do, you'll get hurt. You
could make it illegal to hit a motorbike, and do you
think that it won't happen any longer? Out of 100
drivers (about one block's worth, where I live) 97 are
in a hurry and don't give a shit about anyone's
safety, and 30% of those are already doing something
else at the same time as driving. 15% are drunk or
under some other influence. 60% of them are as dumb
as cows. Put yourself where they can't hit you!

Many years ago (about 1966) an "Old Timer" on an Indian used to stop at the
gas station where I worked. One day we were talking about fools on the road
and he said "son, ride like they're tryin' to kill you." This bit of sound
advice has served me in good stead ever since.

outrageous helmet schemes, hi profiles of bikes like the KLR, etc. I don't
believe for a second that people truly "don't see us."
But they don't, and the really scary part is that there are cage drivers out
there who don't see other cars even. (It happened to me, a kid ran a red
light and turned right in front of my truck.) I usually always wear a blaze
orange reflective vest along with my gear, but I always assume that I am
completely invisible.

Do you think a little more air for the highway might help with the squirminess? I run my stock tires at 29psi each and the ride is fine, though I realize these are two completely different animals.
