I just rode over 600 miles with my gps, with the batteries in, with no
problems. One day was almost entirely off road. The rest of the time I was
thumping through the mountains on pavement. It had lots of vibration, no
doubt. I have the garmin emap.

I have a Garmin III+ with a touratech mount from CycoActive...no problems at
all but I do recommend you wire it into your system and remove the
batteries..

Garmin 3+
I back up what Kurt has said. If you use batteries the
thing will shake the battery contacts into submission
(especially at freeway speeds).
I inserted a thin strip of rubber into the battery
holder to reduce battery movement and used a wobbly
foam spacer on the mount.
This seems to work but the wobbly mount using "Pipe
insulation" degrades to become very very wobbly after
only a few rides. I am experimenting with Bicycle
handlebar tape to provide shock absortion too.
Regards
Mark

Dudes, I bought my LT-12 last spring (when i got my new A-13!!!) from The
Helmet Shop. Price was good and so is the helmet. I'm sure the Shoei's are
a little better but, it all depends on how much you ride and your standards.
But, my LT-12 is a good safe brain bucket!!! and Yellow/purple/silver!!!!!!
