Hello listers, Well tomorrow me and my bud are going to do the valve adjustments on my A 8 and his A 11. Could someone please remind me of the "famed" procedure that was outlined on this list? I don't remember who it was but his is always refered to as the clearest, most concise procedure; along with the shop manual(which I do have). Thanks and wish us much success!!! Aloha, Eric A 8

outlined on this list?http://www.geocities.com/~klrdsn/page27.html. One thing I noticed when I did my adjustment; Elden's step 13 says "remove the cam and shim that needs replacing..." Well, I found that I didn't know how to remove the cam and there were no instructions to do so. So I just lifted the cam a little and pulled the shims out from underneath it. I didn't have to remove the cams and worry at all about the timing etc. I found it very easy this way and I think many other listers do it this way too. The shims may be tricky to get out but I used an exacto knife and a pair of tweezers. Also, I was warned repeatedly to be very careful because it's really easy to drop a bolt into the engine. Many suggest stuffing rags into the crevices.
