Last weekend I traveled to Roseburg Oregon to pick up a stock 99 KLR 650 with 251 miles on it for $3900. In the beginning of riding season it's a reasonable deal. Basically a new bike minus the 1st year deprecation. Personally I prefer a stock bike unless someone reputable has done the work and understands that the carb need to be re-jetted to keep up with the increased airflow etc. Other things to consider are: have the valves been adjusted/1st service etc.? Do they have the original parts? After reading some of the post on this list for Y2K bikes in CA going for $5500+ out the door new it might be worth it. However it sounds a bit high for the Northwest/Mountain states. I feel having a bike now is worth a few $$ vs. waiting a few months to get a better deal latter in the season. Really good deals can be found occasionally. I'd recommend finding other bikes in your area to compare and weigh the differences. Try http://www.traderonline.com/ http://www.Adquest.com & www.classifieds2000.com I found my bike by going to excite.com / us newspapers / state/ and searching classified city by city. It worked for me. Glen Meyer, A-13 "Burnout

There is a 2000 KLR 650 with 4k miles in the newspaper for sale. It has a Corbin seat and custom pipes (looks like a ISD2 in the picture). It's from a non Kawasaki motorcycle dealer and they want $4295.00 U.S. (Northern California). I would rather have an all stock bike then one with the Corbin and ISD2 exhaust. Is $4295 a good price? Is 4k miles too much for a Y2K KLR650? Thanks KLR-less (for now)________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com http://image.accendo.com/banners/goguides/bottom2.gif" height="29" width="129"> http://image.accendo.com/banners/goguides/bottom3.gif" height="29" width="49">http://image.accendo.com/banners/goguides/button.gif" type="image"> Visit the KLR650 archives at http://www.listquest.com/lq/search.html?ln=klr650 Support Dual Sport News... dsneditor@...
