NKLR MC sign language (was: hand signals) here are some:   slow down motion (hand extended palm down, moving up and down), followed by hand pointing up, index finger extended, rotating in circles (miming the rotating lights on your local police cruiser) - "slow down, speed trap ahead" (usually issued to rider coming the other way, when you've passed the speed trap).   hands held limply in front of you, motionless - "I just rode my klr from california to moab, and my hands are completely numb from vibration"   both arms fully extended rotating rapidly, 180 degrees apart - "damn, that ditch stopped my front wheel. i hope i land on something soft and my klr doesn't hit me"   hands over head waving from side to center, crossing in middle - "can you stop and help me pick up my beemer? i tried to ride it in the dirt"   haha mw

Way back in the Seventies I played for a U.S.A. youth All-Star soccer team and we toured Scottland and Ireland during the summer of 75 or 76. Anyway, when we were in Scottland we noticed that they have their own version of our middle finger. Its sort of a peace sign with slightly bent fingers. I think it represents a female's anatomy. Its interesting because our version represents a male's anatomy. I've heard the peace sign with the palm of the hand towards the viewer is a positive sign whereas a peace sign with the back of the hand towards the viewer is a vile insult. It's all rumor though... Sarah

Legend has it that in times of yore, when the British and French were at war, the French would cut off the bow fingers of captured British archers, rendering them useless in their chosen field. Across a muddy field, the British would give the French the 'two fingered salute' to show them they still had their bow fingers, as in 'I can still kill you'. What about the systems that require multiple vehicles to trigger.
