destroying the environment

Post by Eric Jasniewicz » Sun Jun 04, 2000 1:07 am

For those who thinky they can destroy the environment by riding throught the woods, I offer the following test to show you how resilient nature is: 1. Take your KLR in your backyard. 2. Start roosting a line cross your backyard, REALLY DIG IT IN, RIP UP THAT YARD, DESTROY IT! 3. Now dont' cut your grass for a few weks and see what happens. You ever notice what happens to the areas that are burned to the ground by a wildfire in the woods? Check them out in a year or two, let me know if you find an area that does not start growing again. Note how for the past 8 years, the trend has clearly been to NOT punish wrongdoer's, instead to place restrictions on everyone's freedom in order to function as a method of "prevention". Yup, us stupid little citizens, we can't be trusted. We can't keep putting people in jail, so let's take an aggressive stance towards "prevention". Sure does sound good doesn't it? Now who does that stance of "prevention" punish? The law abiding respondible citizen of course! If anyone can show me how these implements of "prevention" stop wrongdoers, I sure would be amazed to see that. Maybe some of our tax dollars could be used to fence in our national parks and employ a large security force to ensure these lands stay safe. Don't worry, the government will pay for it! I would like everyone here to think how many senseless restrictions have been placed on their day to day existence in the past 8 years. Just think about the sense of speed limits for crying out loud. Remember the 85mph speedometers? Yes, that would surely stop people from having accidents. Everyone on the planet should read some Ayn Rand just to give light on a different perspective than the one presented for you on the nightly news. I demand the freedom to make my own decisions as to wether by riding across that stream, I am destroying, even temporarily, the natural scenery there. Ah, like in So I Married An Axe Murderer....."ITS ALL CRAPP!!!!" Ah, I will feel better in the morning, I'm sure! ;)
