Shorter than stock, or shorter than the IMS lever? I broke my stock lever 3/4 through at the weld last Saturday in Utah (from aggressive shifting with heavy boots). I got it welded in Blanding, then soon heavy-boot bent it into the case causing considerable shifting difficulty (I wouldn't bend it out any more for fear of breaking it off). I need a shift lever and I'm not too impressed with the IMS lever but would not want a lever shorter than stock. Verle Nelson Cedaredge, CO

Verle, The Moose lever is shorter than the IMS lever. Based on where it sits next to the engine case, I think it's the same lenght as the factory lever. My bike didn't have a factory lever so I can't say for sure. Maybe somone else on the list went from factory shifter to Moose shifter? Barry '91 KLR650 Verle Nelson wrote:

<< I passed a late model (I think) KLR650 on 15 in MD and we sorta rode together to Leesburg. >> Odd. I rode for just a few seconds with a black RT (rider wearing black w/red cordura jacket) on my GI Joe KLR, heading east on I-70 to Baltimore. I was wearing tan/black Harley jacket, briefcase strapped to rack, doing about 80 mph. Pete the Streak
