Back in my cross-country racing days, when overtaking a slower rider on single track, I would yell out in a high but pleasant voice, "hooty hoot, hooty hoot." Most would pull aside at earliest convince but some guys never wanted to give way. In those cases, the voice got louder and longer and when I did get past them, I gave them a "roost" to go with the "hoot."
