Beez, our fashion guru is in trouble...he's not on the list so make sure and
include him in your reply:
My KLR is currently dead.
No spark.
Fuel and compression check out.
Coil resistances check out.
Sidestand & clutch switches both work.
"Exciter" pickup coil checks out.
CDI? I'm not sure about the tests here, or if I believe the results.
All above tests performed with a DVM.
Coil not tested with high voltage spark test rig. (yet)
I got another CDI but mine's an 88 and only has two connectors.
The CDI that I borrowed, is a 92 I think, and has a third connector,
a bullet type that I think goes to a fuse holder next to the rad catch tank.
Is this CDI compatible w mine? Should I suspect my CDI and this one is
incompat?
Help help please! I wanna leave for MOAB on Thursday!!!!!
TIA!
Beez

(nklr) suzuki dr z400s valves adjustmanet.
A friend of mine has the new Suzuki DR Z400S motorcycle. I looked into the
owners manual and it says that the valves need to be checked (adjusted)
every 24,000 miles. How can Suzuli get away with 24,000 miles before
adjustment and the KLR needs 4 adjustments within that time? They are both
DOHC engines. Just wondering.
