List - If anyone has common ground with any of these routes/schedules, let me know: I'll be riding to Moab, then departing on June 11 to catch a flight out of Salt Lake City that Sunday afternoon. Will return to Salt Lake on June 27 to pick up the bike and ride north through Prince George, Cassiar Highway, British Columbia to the Yukon then Alaska. Will wander aimlessly until July 21. Will leave the Alaska and the bike on July 21 to take care of some business, but will return to Anchorage on August 24 to ride across to Inuvik, then Yellowknife, then south and across Canada to Michigan's upper peninsula before returning to Florida in late September. Looks like I won't be riding fast through Abbottsford on this trip. But maybe next year Cocoa Jim and I will do the terrorist thing. Juan - let me know if this meets any of your plans.... Stuart

Bum, I wouldn't risk it. Many years ago I tried to remove shock springs from a dual shock setup. It was a nerve-wracking experience. It didn't take too long for me to quit, with the springs still mounted and all my body parts intact & uninjured. I wouldn't even think of trying it on a single shock setup. Check some of the internet catalogs & look at the setup of a 'real' shock spring removing tool & then decide if you really wanna risk it with c-clamps & pry bars. Sorry to be such a spoil-sport. swapped. Is it possible to compress the progressive with C-clamps or am I asking for a hospital visit? I finally found a couple of local guys with mechanical knowledge and a shop I can work in but they're Harley guys so I'm not so sure the C-clamp idea is a sound one. I don't mind taking it to a shop to swap but the more I can do myself the better I feel.
