Tom, Don't put too much confidence in old pyros. Most have a five or ten year life before their operation becomes questionable. The most likely failure will be in the firing device (string,lever,pin, etc). If there is any corrosion or deterioration, especially in these areas, get rid of them. And please don't throw them out in the trash. Contact the local cops, Coast Guard or military to see if they'll get rid of them for you. Can't tell you how many dumpsters I've been in fishing these things out. Cheers, D. GBG eh14
