new front sprocket

Hello All, I will be soon replacing the front sprocket on my A12.The
new sprocket is definitely directional, it has a flat surface on one
side while the other side has a small lip.Will it be obvious which
way
it goes on? It is an aftermarket item it also has two threaded holes
which I assume would be for earlier model applications,should still
fit on the A12? Really appreciate any info...cosmo
