That reminds me , I had a new petcock put in on my 80,000 mile KLR. It was
about US$50 and the part number is 51023-1148. KLR was exhibiting poor carb

Alexander,
I too am around 5'6" ( without my packers on) and have done a few things
that have helped a lot, without sacrificing ground clearance. I`ll send them
to you. Don`t let this minor obstacle stop you from getting a great
all-around bike.
