My XR250R is a great little thumper. It is way easier to handle in the rough stuff. I have been up and down hills that I wouldnt even think about trying on the KLR. It is street legal, but I have it set up for dirt, and try not to ride on pavement any more than I have to. If I have to ride more than 15 miles to the trails, I'll take the KLR. I'm still trying to decide which bike dose better wheelies. This weekend the XR would do better wheelies, because the road was wet, and I couldnt get the KLR to hook up, it kept spinning. The XR went right up. And stayed up. It is a lotta fun, lightweight dirtbike. And it's street legal!! When the KLR hooks up, watch out.... It is quite capable of wheelis too.. Lou, Call Elden Carl in San Diego. He's generous with his phone time and knows this stuff better than anyone. Don't have his number here at work. Anybody have it? Bogdan
