Congratulations in advance on writing your thesis, finishing school, getting married, launching a career -- all those things you are about to do this year. Surely, you won't miss the KLR for a while. Best wishes! Verle Nelson Cedaredge, CO

Yusseri, Good by and good luck. I've enjoyed your company; doesn't seem that three years have passed. Some unsolicited advice from an old guy that's been married twice. Get another klr right after the honeymoon. The time away and alone will be good for you and the Mrs. They must sell them in Malaysia. You're pretty close to Japan; didn't they invade you guys? BTW what's the topic of your paper? Bogdan

Bogdan, Thanks. You've been a great help and not inconsiderable amusement over the past 3 years. Yah, they do sell KLRs in Malaysia. Or we could get it imported from Japan. But to be honest, I don't think I can afford one so soon. I'll just have to make do with my dad's ZX-10 for the time being I'm afraid... Japan did invade Malaysia during WWII. Potted history: British colonials having fun. Nippon blokes came round and invaded Malaya (as it was known then). On bicyles! British blokes say, "I say, that's not very cricket!" Nippon guys take control of country with iron fist. Chopped off a few heads here and there. Yanks drop the bomb. Nippon blokes surrender. British walk right back in and say, "Ta very much. Fancy a cup of tea?" -- no offense intended to anybody. My paper's on "Automatic shot boundary detection in digital video database systems", though the title may change. It's mostly computer programming and well, computery stuff though I have been careful to hide my geek credentials. Yus

Congrats on the marriage to be and finishing school! Now for some more unsolicited advice: For Mr. Yus - Treat the Mrs like a horse. That's right, I said a horse. For you see, if you treat her like a thoroughbred, she will perform like a race horse. Or, you can treat her like a NAG, and she will become one! Believe me, race horses are more fun. For Mrs. Yus - Never let the *little boy* in your man die. If Yus can keep some connection to motorbikes he will remain a *little boy*, full of wonder and excitement. Deny the motorbike and little boy become Grouchy Old Man. Knot - married once and for ever, with kids and motorbikes

There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall And the bells in the steeple too And up in the nursery an absurd little bird Is popping out to say cuckoo Cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo Regretfully they tell us But firmly they compel us To say goodbye to you Ruusel'r <- I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye -----Original Message----- From: Yusseri Yusoff Sent: Monday, May 22, 2000 8:53 AM To: KLR650 Mailing List Subject: [DSN_klr650] Goodbye (NKLR) Dear listers, Forgive me for what I am about to say. I have come to say goodbye. As of today, I have 39 days left to submit my thesis. After 7 years and 9 months of full-time university education, it's finally coming to an end. Guess I'll actually have to start earning my keep soon. I'll be leaving for home (Malaysia) early July and probably start work soon after. Also, after much procrastination on my part, I'll be getting married on the 2nd September [1]. Anyhow, I have to let go of the bike. Can't bring it home legally, and I need the money to ship the rest of my stuff. So the little bugger's up for sale. I'd just like to say that I've had a great time and the community on this list is one of the best ever. I've been on and off (mostly on) the list for close to three years now and whilst I've never been a big contributor, I have benefitted a lot. So, THANK YOU EVERYONE. I don't think I'll be having another KLR for a while yet, there'll be loads of other stuff to think of first. But who knows, maybe someday I'll get the opportunity to get one again and I'll rejoin the list. Again. Yus A1 (though not for much longer) [1] All are invited to the ceremony, of course. I'd be mighty surprised if anyone turned up though [2]. [2] That includes the bride.
